to meet in Orlando at a rally scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
We currently have 14 volunteers for the Caravan of Cause and we need more. Can you help line up cars in Miami, Tampa, Daytona, or Tallahassee for a slow, Bush dissenting trip to a grand rally in the Central Florida Fair in Orlando? (click here for map) Can you help with making phone calls or sending out emails? Can you help with publicity? Any help with this huge event promises to be rewarding for you and for us all in November. Dress your cars in hot orange with signs telling Jeb Bush that he does not speak for us. Be creative and choose the words describing your own specific concerns for the well-being of the people in Florida and our nation. Line your cars up in protest of the daily media propaganda and come support the Florida Grandmothers and Others at a grand rally in Orlando. Spread the word far and wide that the people of Florida are not deaf, dumb, and blind to the lies told to us daily. Many people from other states who recognize the bullying wealth of the Bush campaigns have also offered us their support by caravaning down here and making a statement that, the people will prevail over the financial power of the Bush campaign. We especially need caravan coordinators in Tallahassee to choose an appropriate starting point, and send the word out to all Democrats and Independents that the people are driving to Orlando to stand up for voters and for our democracy. The Caravan of Cause is a vehicle to protest the current limits to
our Constitutional freedom of speech, freedom to peaceably assemble,
and freedom to petition the government for redress of grievances. This is a grass roots effort, a caravan of cars, trucks, RV's, busses to make the powers that be recognize the voices of the People, by the People, and for the People in peaceable assembly. We will show our resolve that every vote counts and that we will fight for our freedom of speech. Grandmothers and Others are creating one of the greatest and biggest rallies of the election season by organizing the caravan to depart from four or more locations in the state: West Coast - Tampa, East Coast - Daytona, South Florida - Miami, and North Florida - Tallahassee, with a meeting destination in Orlando. Progressive groups are invited to participate and have a display table at the rally. We will send a signal to those forces that don’t represent working families and populist causes, that, on November 5th - Election Day, we will make sure every vote counts and our voices are heard! That is the day our children and grandchildren’s educational future will win, the environment will win, affordable and available health care will win, working families will win, and senior citizens will win. Cars, trucks, RVs, and maybe even busses will arrive in Central Florida traveling at a minimum speed of 45 or 50mph according to highway safety laws. Orange is the color of the day – the Florida orange – to remind the powers that be, that the votes and voices of the people will be heard!
