ACTION ALERT:

The March On Tallahassee Anniversary Celebration

Join PFAW board member and Hollywood star Alec Baldwin, PFAW President Ralph G. Neas, FLA NAACP, FLA NOW, Sen. Kendrick Meek and former Rep. Tony Hill, etc on March 6th and 7th to commemorate the second anniversary of the March On Tallahassee and prepare for the 2002 election.

ACTION PLAN:

On March 7, 2000, tens of thousands of Floridians gathered in Tallahassee to protest Gov. Jeb Bush's "One Florida" policy, which eliminated Affirmative Action programs in Florida's public universities and in state contracts. The rally was the largest in state history and launched a drive to increase voter participation in the 2000 election.

The effort succeeded, but Gov. Bush and his allies were not done. On November 7, 2000, thousands of Florida voters were denied their right to cast a ballot and have it count because of inadequate training of election workers, inaccurate purges of voter lists and poor election administration procedures.

We won't let it happen again!

Join us on March 6-7, 2002, to commemorate the March On Tallahassee and learn strategies to protect voters' rights!
